Tan Turner Bell

Tanya Turner Bell and her husband Antoine Bell are members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham and current leaders of worship services at the church. As long-time African-American citizens of Alabama, they describe the effects of racism and segregation on their families over the years, as well as their personal experiences of both subtle and overt racism in Birmingham today. As members of the still-mostly-white UUCB congregation, they discuss the challenges of connecting to all populations in the city.
